Common Kalshi issues

ACH and debit funding rails can lag behind the trading engine. The exchange API will look green here while your balance hasn't updated.
- Order book frozen on big news
Around Fed announcements, jobs reports and election calls, Kalshi may pause individual markets for orderly trading. Other markets stay live.
- Mobile app login loops
App-side session bugs can persist even when the web exchange is healthy. Force-quit and reopen, or sign in via the web client.
Background
Kalshi was co-founded by Tarek Mansour and Luana Lopes Lara out of MIT, and after a multi-year approval process became the first federally regulated event-contract exchange in the US in 2021. In late 2024 a federal court cleared Kalshi to list event contracts on US elections, opening the door to a much broader product suite.
